Transgender Therapy

I have provided gender affirming care since 2003. Throughout the years I have used two medical associations as my guide to provide the best of care for my patients:

      • Harry Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria Association (1978-2007) provided health professionals with guidelines for working with transgenders.

      • World Professional Association for Transgender Health is now the recognized association which provides guidelines for health professionals treating transgenders. I have been a member of WPATH for over twelve years.

My goal is to provide support to my patients throughout all phases of their exploration of gender identity, gender expression, and transition. Additionally, I provide a transgender support group, now in its nineteenth year, which meets every month to discuss issues before, during and after transition.

I write letters for gender affirming procedures, hormones, and surgeries.

I provide a wide range of therapies for transgenders and their families:

    • Couples Therapy
    • Family Therapy
    • Grief Therapy
    • Transgender Youth (ages 13-18)

Being a transgender therapist requires very diverse skills and is always challenging. There is so much more than identifying a transgender and writing a letter! Years of experience assist me in being a therapist who is knowledgeable and informative.
